Jacquzzi Tub + Johnson's and Johnson's = "Uh oh"

This evening was Caleb's normal scheduled bathnight but tonight was a bit different. Because the last time I had a bit of trouble holding onto him in the tub, I got in with him to keep his head above water. Just after rinsing his hair, he found the button to the jets and attempted to push it. Being the ever helpful Daddy that I am, I figured what could a little Whirlpool action hurt and he might even find interest in it. I had no idea just how much the shampoo from his hair would suds. Here are a few pictures.

Caleb's 1st Birthday

Well, where do I begin? Caleb had his 1st birthday on Feb 14th 2009. Its hard to believe our little package coming home from the hospital at a whopping 6 lbs 4 oz. is now 4X's that and much more of a handful. We had a small gathering of family Saturday afternoon to celebrate. Caleb was a trooper and to be honest I think had the best time. For some reason, I pictured a 1st birthday as a frightened little guy who would cry at just about anything. But, boy did he prove me wrong. As anyone following this blog knows, Caleb had a very rough week leading up to the party. On the 5th, he had an adenoidectomy and tubes put in his ears. On the 9th, he had a bit of corrective surgery and was circumsized. So needless to say, we really didn't expect him to be very active at his party. We couldn't have been more wrong. Caleb played, danced, and even sang for the crowd. When it came time to blow out the candles, he aimed for the ceiling fan. (LOL) He never did get any cake but it wasn't because of the taste. Mommy (Tammy) really outdid herself on both our cake and his. All in all, Caleb had a great time and even wrapped up the weekend visit from Mimi and Poppie (Steve's parents) with a little naked jogging. Enjoy the pictures.

Caleb Update #2

Caleb had his 2nd of 2 procedures today. Things went well at Texas Children's Hospital. The day began around 4 AM, so needless to say we are all tired from not getting alot of sleep as well as just being stressed from everything. This procedure has been one thats been rescheduled at least twice, so we are happy to see it over with.
For those of you who weren't aware of our appointment, Caleb went in to correct an issue he was diagnosed with at birth called a Hypospadias. Due to this condition, Caleb was unable to get a circumcision just after being delivered last February.
Over the past 3 months we have had to reschedule this procedure due to his reoccuring illnesses related to the sinus trouble hes had over the past 2-3 months. We pray that we are finished with all hospital visits as far as Caleb is concerned. Thank you for all the prayers and all the well wishes. Please come back soon to see our regularly scheduled updates and be sure to check back sometime the beginning of next week to see pictures and get updates of Caleb's 1st birthday party this coming weekend.

Caleb Update

With only 1 week away from having a 1 yr old, Tammy and I spent the day cleaning and getting things ready for visitors. Caleb's Great Aunt Mary-Lou and Great Uncle Bruce came all the way from Georgia to visit. He really enjoyed meeting them and getting to show off all his new tricks.
As the big day comes closer, Caleb has a few pretty big obstacles to overcome. Last Thursday he had much needed surgery to correct some ear trouble hes been experiencing for the last 3 months. Tubes and a Adenoidectomy (removal of the adenoids) was the first of two much needed procedures he will have to endure before his 1st Birthday.
He is recovering from that procedure very nicely.
Monday, he is scheduled for a Hypospadia correction as well as a circumcision. I really feel bad for him to have to go through all this, but hopefully we can get all these issures behind us and enjoy the beginning of our 2nd year on the "3rd Rock from the Sun" Check back often for updates on Caleb's recovery.

Peace and Love...Peace and Love
