Caleb, Tammy, and I are doing great, despite some hard obstacles. Caleb's biliruben count was about a 10 with a weight of 6 lb 7oz. leaving the hospital on Sunday, this past weekend. We had our first Pediatrician's visit on Tuesday and we found the count a bit higher (16.4) and the weight a bit lower (6 lb 3 oz) The Dr asked us to bump up his feeding to 2 oz. every 3 hours whether he wants it or not and come back on Wednesday morning for another Biliruben test. He did much better after a full 24 hours of increased feedings (14.6 br, 6 lbs 7 oz). We go back to see her in 2 weeks. Thankfully, he is doing well, already lifting his head, and blitzing through the mess (no pun intended) of diapers we got at the hospital and 2 showers. Even though Tammy and I haven't been to bed before 3 AM each night, we remain excited and somewhat energetic, thanks in part to StarBucks. We have decided against breastfeeding and are sticking with formula due to a few complications and time constraints when Tammy returns to work.
Tammy is doing well and healing nicely from her C-Section. Everyday, she gets stronger and needs the pain meds less and less.
We had a sad day on Wednesday of this week. My cat I've had since Omaha (7 years) developed a problem with her kidneys and had to be put to sleep. Add the lack of sleep and things were pretty rocky for me as well as Tammy. We will seriously miss our little Princess Malorie!!! We love you, babygirl!
On a better note, Caleb no longer has his umbilical cord. Believe it or not, it fell off yesterday (Wednesday) during a diaper change. Yeah Caleb. Getting so big so fast.
One more day to go until the Weekend. My Mom and Dad are planning to visit us this weekend. WE CAN"T WAIT!!!
Thats it for now. More to come later, with the continuing adventures of Caleb Mackenzie Hannah!!!
